Charisma Carpenter

 

 Charisma Carpenter, born July 23 1970 was an American actress. She portrayed Cordelia Chase in the series of supernatural drama Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-1999) and its spin-off series Angel (1999-2004). She also starred alongside Charmed (2004), Kendall Casablancas (2005-2006), Rebecca Sewell (2012-2013) and Lacy (2010-2012 strong>

 



 

  Carpenter was the daughter of Christine Carpenter who was a bird sanctuary worker and Don Carpenter (a salesman), and was born in Las Vegas. Carpenter is of Spanish, French, and German heritage (from her maternal grandfather). Carpenter was a student at Bishop Gorman high school in Las Vegas.[6] She was also an active member of a dance troupe which was in Las Vegas Valley at nine years.

 



 

  Carpenter At the age of 15, she and her family moved with her family to Rosarito Beach in Baja California, Mexico [2] and later , to San Diego, California. She attended Bonita Vista High School and Chula Vista School of the Creative and Performing Arts. Carpenter traveled all over Europe after graduating. Carpenter returned to San Diego and worked in the video store, as an aerobics instructor, in addition to property management. In 1991, she served as a cheerleader for the San Diego Chargers football team in 1992, she relocated to Los Angeles.

 



 

  Henry Hubbard Jr. was an ex- San Diego officer and serial criminal who tried to control her and two male companions while they were swimming in San Diego in 1991. Both Hubbard Jr. as well as her companions were shot in the struggle. They both survived. Hubbard was detained, convicted, sentenced to 55 years of prison for a string of rapes. Carpenter took Hubbard's flashlight, a police-issue flashlight, from the beach. He left it on the beach. The flashlight proved to be crucial evidence against Hubbard.

 



 

  Carpenter was ranked No. 31 on the AskMen's Top 99 Most Wanted Women 2002[30] and No. 44 on their 2005 list. Carpenter claimed that she didn't consider herself a sex symbol however she does consider herself a sex symbol. Carpenter was photographed on the cover and in a tenpage nude pictorial in the June issue of 2004. People magazine asked Carpenter in 2005 if she would ever again pose for Playboy. Carpenter replied "I don't know." I joined Playboy for a very specific reason. Playboy was not just an intelligent financial decision, but also an excellent fit for my current life circumstances. I'd just had a son and I'd gained 50 pounds in the course of pregnancy. I wanted to feel like my old self again. I wanted to be attractive and sexy. I was thinking, "What if I went all out?"
